Marcea Eckhardt was born and raised in a small rural town in Colorado, U.S.A. She graduated as a first-generation college student from the University of Northern Colorado with a B.A. in German and English and an M.A. in Agency Counseling: Marriage & Family Therapy and Secondary/Post-secondary School Counseling. Ms. E., as she is affectionately called by her students, mentored students as a school counselor for 21 years prior to becoming an independent college advisor and life coaching consultant for teens, young adults and professionals wishing to live successful and abundant lives.

She served for seven years as a middle school counselor and eight years as a high school counsellor in the U.S. As a single mother, she raised two children and also experienced the university admission and financial aid process as a single parent.

Her daughter was a Division I Athlete, so Marcea is also very familiar with the athletic recruitment process, NCAA requirements, etc.

For the last six years, she worked internationally in Germany, the U.K. and Thailand as a high school and university counselor assisting students from all over the world to obtain acceptances into their top three choice universities. Her belief is that the university search process is about finding the best fit for a student based on the student’s unique academic profile, extracurricular activities, test scores, volunteering and life experiences. Her vision is to empower, guide and coach students in goal setting, career awareness, choosing the right course of study, university research, writing personal statements/college essays, developing a university short list, etc….all while collaborating with the student and the family utilizing a team approach. She is a member of the International Association of College Admission Counseling organization.
